Terrot Strickmaschinen GmbH, Stuttgart presented itself with new ideas and innovative products at the international textile machine exhibition in Birmingham from the 22nd to the 29th October 2003.
As a renowned manufacturer of circular knitting machines, Terrot has the advantage over others in the trade of drawing on the extensive know-how of its employees. This competence in building circular knitting machines could be seen in a quality and market-orientated design that meets the highest demands of modern manufacturing and assembling technology.
We are proud to have been able to present ourselves in Birmingham with new and further developed machine components and well thought-out concepts, as well as a contemporary and eye-catching new machine colour. Visitor's interest in our exhibits, technology and application examples far exceeded our own expectations. Contrary to pessimistic predictions, we saw a large number of visitors on the stand, expressing a lively interest in Terrot machines on every day of the trade show. This overwhelming feedback was both confirmation and acknowledgment of our achievement. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to all our customers and visitors.
The following are various customer opinions and statements on the exhibited machines:
- RH 216-L
The new machine frame, together with the likewise new main drive concept for the body size range is particularly impressive, due to its simplicity combined with high precision performance. In particular, the fabric roll is accessible and easy to remove and control, which improves efficiency in handling the machine.
- UCC 572 BW
The newly developed open width frame can now hold up the knitting head of every Terrot machine i.e. electronic jacquard, mechanical jacquard, eight-lock and single jersey. Applying the Terrot open width technology considerably increases flexibility within knitting plants. Customers can at last complete all their orders without any creased edge. The precise open winding and rolling ensures top quality fabric with all common yarn types. The biggest interest, however, was generated by the skilfully created Spacer Fabrics for underwear, contemporary clothing, sportswear and for technical applications.
- APL 2
Very even surface, dense velour, better loop formation: that was the impressed response from customers to the Terrot Plush fabrics in up to 28gg for automotive applications. Operating the machine is now even simpler, thanks to optional motors which drive the toothed belts from a central point. Necessary data and yarn quantity for various knitted structures can be entered over an additional display. The data is then saved in an itemised list and can quickly be accessed in order to reproduce exactly the same fabric again at any time.
- SCC 572
Top quality fabric in Superplating technique combined with electronic jacquard impressed even the most critical of knitting experts. This fashionable material finds practical applications in the select area of womenswear and underwear. The improved Terrot-PIEZO needle selection guarantees machine speeds that exceed customers' requirements, as well as offering unlimited pattern possibilities on the whole cylinder circumference. Of particular interest were the yarn feeds with fitted LGL-feed wheel units, on which a wide variety of different yarns are separated on the winding drum and then fed precisely into the needles.
- I3P 572
Over 40 years tradition in building and distributing eight-lock machines is continued with this new Terrot development. Special features include maximal production reliability on the typical Terrot "best stitch" and an extra third needle track in the dial which meets customer's requests for more extensive pattern possibilities. These increase the machine's flexibility and broaden its range of uses. Absolute highlight of the operating convenience and safety when reproducing various fabrics were the individually adjustable motor driven feed wheel units when saving basic fabric data. Machine change-over times can therefore be greatly reduced.
- S 296-BW
Soft, flowing and fine fabrics of the very highest quality fulfil the demand for particularly fine single jersey. The S296 is now available in up to gauge 40. The redesigned yarn carriers make plating elastan yarns even simpler and safer. Combining the 40gg single jersey knitting head with the latest open width technology results in a fashionable side crease-free fabric perfectly matching current market requirements. A substantial reduction in change-over times is attained, in particular when manufacturing small orders. Easily accessable fabric data and storages make this a particularly user-friendly machine.
