The principal task of needle oils, but also of the running-in and cleaning oils used in circular knitting machines, is to lubricate the mechanical parts of the machine and thereby minimise friction at the knitting tools. This helps to attain a maximum lifetime of needles, sinkers and cams. Good scourability of the needle oils is of course also an important factor to avoid problems and irregularities in the textile finishing process. A further aspect of lubrication is to reduce machine operating temperatures and prevent corrosion.
Klüber Lubrication held its "Textile Workshop" this year at Terrot in Stuttgart, Germany. Around 15 Klüber representatives from around the world were given the opportunity to find out all about the latest knitting technology of the Terrot product range.
