Seminar in Dhaka, Bangladesh
Six different Terrot seminars held in Bangladesh and Thailand were staged under the motto “Terrot German made machines“. A total of 150 knitting experts and Terrot customers from different fields took up the invitation issued by Terrot Strickmaschinen GmbH and our agencies EuroAsiatic Resources in Bangladesh and Elite in Bangkok to attend various technical seminars in Bangkok and Dhaka during April 2005.
The guest of honour in Dhaka was his Excellency the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Dietrich Andreas. In his opening address at the Sheraton Hotel in Dhaka, Mr. Dietrich Andreas extended a warm welcome to the many seminar-goers, and emphasized the many years of friendship existing between German textile machine manufacturers and textile producers in Bangladesh. He mentioned that Germany was the country’s second biggest international trading partner. The year 2004 had seen highly successful development of bilateral trade between Germany and Bangladesh with an increase of over 20%. Finished clothing textiles accounted for 96% of the country’s export volume to Germany in 2004. The high quality and process reliability of German products, the outstanding technical standard and long service life of the machines meant that local producing companies could rely on outstanding efficiency and an optimum return on investment. The Ambassador also mentioned the well organized spare parts supply and excellent aftersales service as additional criteria motivating Bangladeshi companies to invest in German products.

Messrs. Choudhury Taher and Muhammad Sami, Managers of the Terrot agency EuroAsiatic Resources, also welcomed the many guests. Their speeches outlined the enormous significance of the textile industry in Bangladesh for Terrot products.
The address held by Mr. Jörg Ulmschneider, Head of Sales at Terrot Strickmaschinen GmbH, provided an interesting insight into the Terrot’s long-standing tradition and competence in the manufacture and sale of state-of-the-art circular knitting machines. He expressed his belief that the outline conditions were in place for continuous further development of the textile industry in Bangladesh. Highlighting the growing significance of the country in the international marketplace as a highly positive development, he pointed out that Bangladeshi knitting factories, already producing to a high standard, were still capable of further expansion with additional high-quality Terrot circular knitting machines.
In his subsequent presentation, Head of Marketing at Terrot Strickmaschinen GmbH Klaus Kunde took a detailed look at the innovations and new developments implemented in the various Terrot circular knitting machine models. Application-specific improvements and extension of the application range coupled with a continuously growing vertical depth of production, and also the process reliability offered by Terrot circular knitting machines to the benefit of all users formed the central themes of his address. He also provided evidence of the advanced development status of Terrot products by showing a number of machine videos and fabric collections of the latest 8-lock and single jersey patterns.
Customers and visitors alike demonstrated a lively and highly positive interest in all the seminars. During the subsequent refreshment period, all those present made use of the opportunity to consolidate everything they had seen and heard and to swap experiences and impressions.
Seminars in Bangkok, Thailand
A number of company seminars were held at various Terrot customer premises in the Bangkok region. Renowned customers such as YRC Textile, Jong Stit, Siam Knitwear, Thai Toray and Uniontex were kind enough to make their premises available. We would like to take this opportunity to thank these companies. On behalf of Terrot Strickmaschinen GmbH, Mr. Y.H. Lee, Director of our Bangkok agency Elite, welcomed the managers and technicians attending the seminars from the fields of knitting production and development. In the presentation that followed, head of Terrot Marketing Mr. Kunde informed seminar-goers about new and further developments to Terrot circular knitting machines. The presentation was illustrated by current pattern collections from the sport and leisure sector. Topical questions were answered during the following floor discussion. As the seminars came to a close, there was a general consensus among customers that these events should be repeated on a regular basis in the future.
